Accomplishments:
• Graphic Designer/Illustrator for over 17 years • SCBWI Member since 2009 • 2010 Logo winner for SCBWI Eastern PA Chapter, Pocono Retreat • 2011 SCBWI Eastern PA Illustrator of the Month • 2012 & 2013 Accepted in the Highlights Foundation, Advanced Illustrator Workshop • Sang The National Anthem in front of 40,000 people at an Oriole game. (Not related, but still cool!) Kelli started drawing creative worlds in her cardboard pencil boxes at age six, sold her first illustration masterpiece to "Uncle Don" at age ten, and now illustrates for her clients and makes coloring pages for her children. Born & raised in Maryland, she has always loved art and drawing. After high school, she received a scholarship to the Art Institute of Houston. Two semesters later she transferred to the Art Institute of Philadelphia where she attended in the evenings and worked at Advertising Agencies during the day to pay her way through school. Since graduation in 1998 with a degree in Graphic Design, Kelli has continued working in Advertising for over 17 years. In 2004, she branched off on her own and has been running a small Design Studio from her home. In 2005 Kelli illustrated 8-piece die-cut kits for My Minds Eye, a scrapbook manufacturer in Utah. There were 16 themes for the product line called Whimsy-Kits™, the kits ranged in variety and included themes like Baby Boy, Holidays, Summer and many more. Kelli always loved Children's Books and Illustration, and in 2009 she joined The Society of Children's Books Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI), and started attending conferences with the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter. She won their logo contest in 2010 for the SCBWI Eastern PA Pocono Conference and was featured as an Illustrator of the month on the SCBWIEPA website. In 2012 she was accepted into the Advanced Illustrator Workshop through the Highlights Foundation. That workshop started her off in a new direction; while proficient in many areas, it has given her the ability to improve in others. She loved learning new techniques from many other talented Illustrators and has been drawing more and more each day. Currently, she resides in Pennsylvania with her husband & children, and is still involved in Graphic Design for her clients. She also takes on many different small projects that involve Illustration. Please contact her directly: [email protected] if you are interested in working with her on a project! Thanks for stopping by! |
